Still in progress, seen some big drops today.
for your site or others? most of the recoveries I was seeing have slipped back again now.

Check out 'bookies' now on google uk. They are horrendous results now. Ok, 1st 2 spots you'd probably expect, bookies.com then oddschecker, but then another oddschecker page, a wiki page you could almost understand, 2 youtube videos, 2 olbg pages, an old bbc program and a book on amazon. Who in their right mind would search for bookies and think, ah, an old bbc doc is just what I was looking for or a video about a slot machine. horrible

On my sites unfortunately. That is a shocking search result for that term. Absolutely useless

Sorry bud, now I know first hand how depressing these things are. I was always very lucky in the past to escape any major kicks.
Have you seen drop backs to what you saw after they finished the May update? I do wonder if they tweeked it and re-rolled it out to iron out some of the main issues, but whatever they have done doesn't seemed to have worked. Or at the very least not worked how I want them to lol
Side note - Really only me and you with the bollocks to stand up and admit we've been hit again, with people happy to take my observations and thoughts without contributing and pretending they are dominating the world of affiliate marketing (not aimed at the owners of this forum who have dominated the industry for many years and deserve a well done on that front BTW)

I've seen loads of sites up and down over past few months. Dont think many people will comment on here as some wont mention their site/s and for some reason discussing seo etc seems a thing of the past on here and gpwa. Both forums have seemed dead over last few months. A far cry from when was tons of active users.

One of our sites took a hit, then recovered, then dropped again then recovered. We did nothing to it.

Going off other forums, no one has a clue why this is happening to certain sites. The link I sent you to the other forum Aidan is probably the best one I've seen discussing this

Trouble with those seo forums i get bored after a while with all the stupid conspiracy theories about google punishing sites so they have to use adwords etc. So boring and untrue it's unreal.
Thing is I find it all a bit sad that people want to harvest information but not contribute with their own. I could have not started this thread at all and some would feel so alone that they've lost rankings with nowhere to even talk about it and try and understand what is going on. I have managed to supply my full observations without naming any of my sites, and I'm not saying this about you as we have chatted openly, and people have happily taken everything I've said for their own gain with no interest in helping other people back.
One reason is these forums are mainly anonymous and you have weirdos pretending they are something they are not and they'd get exposed the moment they posted.

Not seen the drops from previous update yet, so won't know until another couple of days. But I can see a lot of activity on GA which usually coincides with a Google update. So not panicking. I admit I have done nothing on the site/s as just too dam busy elsewhere. You don't get results that way so will have to buckle down and just get on with it.

To be fair though it can be wise not to do anything so you can see the changes etc with the full knowledge it is not because something you've done that coincides with an update. I'm adding content, well will be next week as been man down all week ill with food poisoning but making no site changes at all

...and also with these broad core updates that are based on a whole range of factors, it doesn't make sense to look for a magic bullet.

It's obviously a weird time with some obviously rubbish sites going up the rankings - with that in mind it feels like this could be one that is taking more time to settle than normal. Once the volatility subsides and if rubbish sites are still on top, then we really need to figure out why.

That's exactly what i've been seeing for various terms (i think also messaged you about it). It's really redicoulous. They like go for somewhat "official" sites or whatever but it really crossed the line to being irrelevant. Old docs, landbased casino info while searching for certain blackjack game, etc.

this isn't still settling or rolling out from May though, this is a completely different update, exactly what though we won't know unless google
You described my existence on this forum.

Any observations to add?

It seems Google fix now different things which went wrong after the update in may. Step by step we get all rankings back as it was before the May update.

Hope you are right but somehow i doubt it will go back. it is the direction and i think took place in other industries. Maybe half way back :)

Doesn't have to be "fixing". For 2019 they announced over 33k tries on the search engine algorithm and the number that was kept (only a fraction of those). So like every business and product they experiment new things now and then and then decide what stays what goes.

Another thing is 10 places are far too little to fit ALL quality website for a country or THE WHOLE WORLD. I've been going up and down, nothing major. Overall if I dont place in this "race" in top 10 doesn't mean something is broken, as it doesn't mean I suck either.

I see too many people taking it way too personally, going after big conspiracy theories.Or maybe I've been reading too many comments around seroundtable :)

I would rather echo this statement. The recent and future updates are likely to change how we optimise our sites and put more effort into areas previously avoided or less cared for. Overall I think all will go to the actual quality and less weight on backlinks etc. Who knows. Even google doesnt now probably!

Aidan, I'm a nobody. No point of me BSing about things I'm not capable of understanding. Google SEO is one of them.

There are plenty of millionaire sharks on this forum, who can bestow pearls of wisdom on this topic.

Even the biggest most popular sites are getting hammered over and over again, 50-60% drops for some of them one of my sites got hit real hard but it was recently relaunched so doing testing to bring it back i took off a 301 redirect and turned them back into two different sites

I'm seeing some more changes today with what looks like another massive kick in the bollocks. A drop of 4-5 pages for one phrase although some have hardly moved so just waiting for google to hit the final nail in the coffin. I ain't got the energy for this shit anymore
