I remember 5 years ago when I had made a small dutch article site without CMS even, just in html with a html template. Took me 14 days to build (was new to all of it) and went on a student exchange and forgot about it. Got 5-10 google visitors per day. After 4 months the first depositing player, made about 350 euro in commissions. Lost him the month after because I had hosting issues and the affiliate program took that as a reason to close my account.

Edit: Fast forward to 2009: Invested 5 figures and 3 months of work into PlayersBay, I hope to launch V2 by January 17th (my birthday). Quit the job so now the ambitions are serious.

If you read the opening post, I think you will find this poll is about how much AFFILIATES make, not the casinos.

Yes read the opening post and understand we are talking about affiliates. My point is, the query ''how much do you make" can be interpreted to mean either bottom line profit (casino payments less all expenses) or simply total payments from various casino programs - 2 very different things

Andy are we talking gross or net?I will be upfront i am one who makes more than $150,000 a month but we spend $30,000 -$40,000 a month on SEO /advertising for our network.That is income from 17 websites with 4 fulltime and 8 part time employees.Everyone knows us as Casinobonusguy but I would never let people know our main moneymaker website .I am sad to say one time I discussed my #2 site with an affiliate and within a month he was targeting all my seo stuff.

Just wanted to say it is very true in this business especially that the more you spend the more you will make.In the early days we were spending 100% back into the site and I personally worked easy 100 hours a week.Actually I never hired anyone until i was making a comfortable $20,000 a month as it is a lot of responsibility to employ another in such a unpredictable market.When i was making $20,000 ,I was taking about $5000 a month for myself and rest for the business.The reason we spend so much now is we are working on getting to top of google for the 'big money' keywords ,probably cost easy $100,000 to get to top 25 and alot more than that to get to top 10 lol.

Method 2: Link exchanges - Ask a casino webmaster (via email or other) to exchange links. This means to put YOUR site link on their site in exchange for the same type of link on your site. There are still quite a few affiliates who use link exchanges very successfully to garner more traffic. Not all webmasters will respond, so you will have to be extremely patient.

All Links have value. Some less than others. Traffic is the value we should really care about, though. If the link gives you some traffic, it is valuable.

LOL - the first month as an affiliate i felt like a KING. I read how many people made no money - and I made $20 USD. WOW!!! i was so excited. Over the 2 years now i think.. 26 months its been up and down but its safe to say if all things work accordingly i will never have to work again.

Well this is work right?

one thing - i have to agree with Judy here. The more you spend - the more you will make.....

Could some kind hearted souls start a post which describes what is needed to make between $1,000 to $5,000 a month?

No need to reveal any gameplans or personal strategies, just a rough estimate of how much traffic is needed and how much time it takes to get there?

I'm brand new to promoting online gaming and am very excited to start, any help or advice will be truly appreciated...

I think in a word TIME.My site that now generates high $xx,xxx a month took me 5 months to make my first $100.00 and another 4 months to make $1000.Once it got to about 18 months old we were steady $5000+ a month.All it takes is a few good players at each casino to get to $xx,xxx a month.
